Our Process
A CURATED EXPERIENCE FROM BEGINNING TO END
We believe quality begins with service, and continues through the delivery process. Our experience driven and member-centric approach makes clothes shopping less of a chore and something you’ll actually look forward to.
I. Meet
1812 Society’s experience begins with an in-depth consultation with one of our local ambassadors, right in the comfort and convenience of your home or office. This isn’t about checking boxes or filling out forms, rather it’s an unrestricted discussion that allows us to get to know you and for you to learn more about our products and services. The garments we create are as unique and special as you, so we feel taking our time and getting it right the first time is the only way to start the relationship.
II. Measure
1812 Society prides itself on having a phenomenal fitting garment and that starts with gathering the proper measurements and body posture, as well as determining the basic style and cut of each garment. There’s a lot more to it than than just copying a style or fit from a magazine and sending a few measurements to our Master Tailors. In fact, we take 36 individual measurements, posture and body type proportions, as well as information from you on where and how you plan on wearing the garment. This is the only way to ensure that each garment best fits each member’s taste, body shape, and lifestyle.
III. Design
1812 Society currently offers thousands of year round fabric choices from several of the top mills and fabric houses, including Loro Piana, Ermenegildo Zegna, Cerutti, Canclini, and many others. We also have exclusive seasonal selections twice a year for the more weather and temperature specific climates. Using these textiles, we begin the process of designing and coordinating outfits specifically to each member’s specifications. As they say, “It’s all in the details”, and 1812 has unlimited options and style offerings to truly make your garments stand out amongst the crowd. Options like pic stitching, functional sleeve buttonholes, customized linings, canvas construction, and hand sewn buttonholes are always standard and this is just the beginning.
IV. Construct
Pulling it all together is our Master Tailors and their years of experience and immense attention to detail. They start by developing your personal pattern, a tedious process that includes hours of work to get the fit precisely right. Next, they cut the fabric and begin sewing the garment, much of it by hand, and all of it with care. Every last detail is checked thoroughly ensuring each garment is made to the exact specifications that were requested. Although this process is the longest and most detailed, 1812 ensures your garments are delivered in a timely fashion, some in as little as 2 weeks, and most within 4 weeks. Fully handmade and exclusive fabrics can take a little longer, but trust us, they are worth the wait.
V. Fitting
Each garment is hand delivered by a Local Ambassador and a second fitting takes place. At this point, we are able to make any fine tunings, whether is be a nip here or a tuck there, and ensure each garment fits exactly as expected. We have local Master Tailors in each of the markets we serve to make these small adjustments quickly and effectively. We also make any necessary changes to your personal pattern for future orders. 1812 Society guarantees all of our member’s satisfaction and if any changes are needed, they are complimentary and will be taken care of immediately.
